The RSPCA has a lot of Guineas desperately needing homes, as do the Cambridge Cavy Trust who have lists of Guinea Pig rescue centres all over the UK. : Cambridge Cavy Trust Leewood Business Park Upton Huntingdon Cambridgeshire PE28 5YQ 01480 455346
Please DO NOT FORGET THE RESCUE CENTRES !!! There are always Guineas needing help - and rabbbits - and there are always more waiting to take the place of the ones that have just been rehomed.
Here is a rescue centre in Cumbria, who if they don't have guineas, may be able to point you to another rescue.

I just traded a guinea pig that runs away and squeals and trys to run away when you try to pick her up, for one that will let you pick her up and won't squeal. the guinea pig was my friend's, she loved her, and the other one she gave away, we couldn't keep both of ours, and her son was alergic to the pigs, so i traded them. i also have a nine week year old lop-eared rabbit. i had another one at two months, but she got sick and died. i want to know if i can put the rabbit and the guinea pig together.

STOP BUYING AND BREEDING THE POOR FUCKING CREATURES.
Fucking hell, how can you be so dim as to inbreed, poorly socialise and generally not have a clue about guinea pigs? Take note people, GUINEA pigs. Not "ginny", "guinia" "guniea" or any other bastard mutation. Spellcheck is there for a reason. In fact if you can't spell the species, you shouldn't be allowed near it.
Oh, I weep for humanity. Those of you that advocate rescue, I thank you.
I have a brown and white 1 year old male guinea pig, believed to be a dutch...he has lived with my french lop buck rabbit, however due to the fact im breeding my french lops,my buck "hash" has become sexually frustrated, which leaves me in a position to give the guinea pig "gus" free to a loving home...he would make a good breeding pig...or pet...but is only avaible to a good home if you are interested you can e-mail me email@example.com or phone (01702)525288 eastwood. thank you for reading.23/03/2005.

I run a small unregistered guinea pig rescue centre in Fife and recently rescued 9 pregnant sows whose babies will need loving homes within the next few weeks. They are a wide mixture of colours and breeds including abyssinian, short haired and torties. I also have boars needing homes. All homes will be vetted and a charge of £10 per pig to help cover vet bills. Please can you find it in your heart to give one of these animals a forever home.

Please do not put any guinea pigs with rabbits. The guinea pig could get trodden on or kicked by the rabbit with serious injuries incurred. A rabbit will also try to mate with a guinea pig regardless of whether it is male or female. Also, guinea pigs are prone to bite rabbits, which could result in them getting abscesses.
Please be kind and give them separate homes (* piggies prefer to be housed with another piggie as they are sociable creatures*)

Just a word of advice to all you people on this board who are looking for guinea pigs....visit your local rescue centre and give a home to an unwanted piggie rather than buying from a breeder.
And also, DO NOT house rabbits & guinea pigs together.
Liz (188.8.131.52) posted on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 - 3:20 pm
Oh my god. The majority of you people shouldn't be allowed to keep animals! On this board I have read about someone who gave their guinea pig away because it ran away from them, people allowing their animals to inbreed, people keeping rabbits & guinea pigs together...the list goes on.
Thank you to people who have given advice about NOT breeding, NOT keeping rabbits & guineas together & ADOPTING animals from rescues.

RABBITS AND GUINEAPIGS CAN NOT BE KEPT TOGETHER! not just will the rabbit sometimes bully the piggy, pigs need extra vitimin c where as rabbits can make there own and get easily overdosed on it, you cant feed rabbit guineapig food and you cant feed guineapigs rabbit food ! a rabbit will use a guineapig as a toilet !! i could go on all day, but if u are a nice responsible person u will not under any cercumstances keep rabbits and cavies together !! GUINEA PIG NEEDED IN CUMBRIA (around carlisle) I dont want to get one from a petshop but may have to soon as i am lonely without mine. She was a female and i would prefer another female. Am happy to rehome two together or whatever ... I do not even mind if she is not that young as long as she is friendly. This is a genuine and loving home with one careful older child who would help me look after her.
OK, to all you people looking for guinea pigs, please DO NOT buy form pet shops! they treat them wrong! a lot of people do not realise there are many guinea pigs needing homes in the rescue centres!! please go and check them. If not, there are reputable breeders who look after them well and they certainly dont cost half the price of pet shop piggies!! for reputable registered breeders (myself included) go to www.cavybreeder.co.uk
But PLEASE rescues always have lonely piggies, go there first!!!!

Ideally I am looking to give a home to either another rex or a long haired Guinea pig.
Does anyone know of a reputable guinea pig breeder in the East Riding of Yorkshire? In approximately 3 weeks will be looking for two female guinea pigs to join my recently bereaved Jacky-boy, who is having the snip on Friday! Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Why not rehome guinea pigs from a rescue ?

It is a possibility but I do not want to put them through the trauma of a long journey in the car, and there are few rescues near to here and at present there are no suitable candidates.

5 miles from Hull. There is the RSPCA place at South Cave and another in Hull but neither have any suitable candidates at present. A colleague of mine said she used to work for a breeder at Wheel which is near Beverley, but I cannot seem to find details.
Hi i am looking to adopt a pair of guinea pigs or a lop eared rabbit must be able to live indoors as i live in a flat. So if you are looking to put your pet/s up for adoption (hutch would also come in handy) look no further. Preferably from Barnet Hertfordshire. EMAIL: email@example.com
